#8915. Stepped Wooden Facade: Contemporary Architecture with Natural Character

The presented building exemplifies contemporary architecture with a distinctive wooden facade. The structure features an expressive stepped volume with rectangular blocks shifted relative to each other, creating a dynamic silhouette. The facade is completely clad with vertical wooden planks that have acquired a natural gray-brown shade due to weathering.

The architectural solution is based on the contrast between massive wooden elements and large glass surfaces. The panoramic glazing of the first floor provides a visual connection between the interior space and the surrounding landscape, while the protruding elements of the upper floors form protected terraces. The vertical articulation of the facade emphasizes the height of the building and gives it an expressive rhythm.

The facade design employs techniques that can be adapted for private housing: the use of untreated natural wood as an environmentally friendly and aesthetically pleasing material; playing with volumes to create interesting projections and recesses; contrast between opaque surfaces and large glazed areas; and simple geometry forming a contemporary minimalist appearance. Untreated wood requires minimal maintenance and develops a noble patina over time, making it a practical choice for facade cladding.
