Traditional Russian Wooden Façade with Ornate Woodcarving

#872. Traditional Russian Wooden Façade with Ornate Woodcarving

The image showcases an exquisite example of traditional Russian wooden architecture, executed in the "carved ornamental" style. The façade is adorned with rich woodcarving and displays characteristic features of Russian folk architecture from the late 19th to early 20th century.

The upper part of the façade is crowned with a triangular pediment featuring a semicircular kokoshnik (decorative semicircular element), with an intricate floral ornament placed in its center. Particularly eye-catching is the central carved window on the second floor with its distinctive framing, surrounded by decorative elements. Symmetrical smaller windows are positioned on either side.

The façade features a two-color palette: the main light (cream) color is complemented by burgundy-brown accents that highlight the architectural details. Numerous carved elements — decorative valances, window frames, and decorative boards — create a rich ornamental composition dominated by botanical and geometric motifs.

The lower floor is also lavishly decorated with carved elements and designed in the same color scheme, creating a cohesive composition. The house's roof is covered with slate tiles in a characteristic gray shade. This is a beautiful example of a preserved wooden architecture monument, demonstrating the high craftsmanship of wood carvers and the traditions of Russian architecture.
