#8656. Floating Facade: Dynamic House with Contrasting Metal and Wood Combination

This architectural object presents a bold example of a modern interpretation of the traditional gabled form. The building stands out with its dynamic silhouette – a significant part of the structure is literally suspended in the air, creating the effect of a floating volume above the hillside. The facade is executed in a minimalist manner using two primary materials: gray metal panels for the main volume and warm wooden cladding that accentuates the upper part of the structure.

The work with proportions is particularly noteworthy – sharp geometric forms and inclined planes create a sense of dynamism and modernity. The architect masterfully plays with the contrast between the solid surfaces of the metal facade and the laconic window openings. The upper level is complemented by a small terrace with minimalist railings, emphasizing the connection between the interior and the picturesque natural surroundings.

This approach to facade design can be adopted when creating a modern private house: contrasting combination of materials (metal and wood), playing with geometry and non-standard solutions for traditional roof forms, as well as integrating the building into the landscape considering the terrain. Such a solution allows for creating an expressive architectural object that, despite the avant-garde form, harmoniously fits into the natural environment thanks to the thoughtful choice of materials and color palette.
