Deconstructivist Facade: Contrasting Geometry in a Contemporary Residence

#8301. Deconstructivist Facade: Contrasting Geometry in a Contemporary Residence

This is an impressive example of modern architecture with an expressive facade dominated by geometric forms and contrasting materials. The residence is executed in a deconstructivist style with elements of minimalism, where clean lines create a dramatic effect against the natural landscape backdrop.

The facade is characterized by bold use of angular, cantilevered volumes in dark gray that contrast with the white walls of the lower level. Particularly noteworthy are the asymmetrical protruding elements of the upper floor, creating a dynamic silhouette. The architect masterfully employed the technique of visual separation of volumes, giving the structure a sense of lightness despite its imposing size.

Extensive glazing is a key design element, providing visual permeability between interior and exterior spaces. Floor-to-ceiling windows on both levels allow glimpses into the interior, which seems to be an extension of the exterior thanks to the open floor plan.

In a personal project, similar techniques can be adapted through the use of contrasting materials (for example, combinations of dark metal and light stucco), creation of expressive geometric volumes, and use of large windows for natural lighting. Even on a smaller scale, playing with cantilevered elements and multi-level volumes can create a modern and dynamic facade.

We design facades of country houses.
