This project showcases a modern residential house executed in a minimalist style with an expressive contrast of materials on the facade. The main composition of the facade is built on the combination of two dominant textures: dark slate stone laid in horizontal strips of varying thickness, and light wooden panels creating a warm visual accent.
The building's facade features cubic geometry with clean lines and angles, devoid of decorative excesses. Architectural expressiveness is achieved through the interplay of volumes and materials. The dark slate occupies a dominant position on the right side of the building, creating a sense of monolithic solidity, while the wooden panels on the left wing bring an element of naturalness and warmth.
Particular attention is drawn to the central entrance area with its double-height glazing, which serves as a connecting element between the two volumes of different materials. The thoughtful placement of window openings of various sizes and proportions not only provides optimal lighting for interior spaces but also creates a rhythmic pattern on the facade surface. Some window openings in the wooden part of the facade are framed with dark frames, creating additional contrast and depth.
For your own home, such an approach to facade design can be implemented by considering several techniques: contrasting combination of 2-3 materials with different textures and colors; creating clear geometric volumes; using large window openings with minimalist frames; well-planned lighting that emphasizes the texture of materials in the evening; designing the entrance area as a connecting element between different volumes of the building.
