#7812. Modern Scandinavian Cottage: Duality of the Red Facade

This red Scandinavian cottage successfully blends traditional and modern architectural elements. The facade is predominantly bright red with white accents along the roof edges and window frames, typical of Northern architecture. The vertical cladding of the main structure gives it a characteristic rustic appearance.

The duality of the composition is notable: the right side of the house is traditional and simple, with a classic gabled roof and rectangular windows, while the left wing is more contemporary, featuring tall panoramic windows and a triangular facade that mirrors the roof shape but is executed in stone. The stone elements of the facade harmoniously complement the natural stone foundation on which the house sits.

The deck with bright red wooden railings creates a transition zone between the interior and the surrounding landscape. The light-colored stone chimney protrudes above the roofline, adding a vertical accent to the composition. The placement of the house on a hillside among coniferous trees demonstrates skillful integration of architecture into the natural environment.
