Mountain residence with cantilevered facade: harmony of wood, stone and glass

#7744. Mountain residence with cantilevered facade: harmony of wood, stone and glass

The presented building demonstrates a striking example of contemporary mountain architecture, where natural materials and bold structural solutions are organically combined. The facade is characterized by the expressive use of wood and glass in conjunction with stone masonry at the base, creating the effect of a floating structure.

Particularly notable is the corner section of the building with panoramic glazing, which serves as an architectural dominant. The cantilevered projection of the second floor enhances the compositional dynamics, while large window openings ensure a visual connection with the surrounding landscape. The wooden facade cladding with horizontal lines emphasizes the geometry of the volume, and the protruding roof elements with exposed wooden beams give the building a distinctive silhouette.

The architectural solution clearly follows the principle of material contrast: a heavy stone base that visually anchors the building to the rocky site, and lightweight wood-and-glass volumes of the upper floors. The terracing of the volume allowed the structure to be organically integrated into the complex terrain, while the use of natural materials creates a harmonious dialogue with the surrounding coniferous trees.
