Curved Facade in Tropical Modernism: A Dialogue of Textures and Forms

#7673. Curved Facade in Tropical Modernism: A Dialogue of Textures and Forms

This project exemplifies a splendid example of contemporary tropical architecture with pronounced modernist influences. The building's facade is characterized by a harmonious combination of textured sandy-colored stucco and dark wooden elements, creating an expressive contrast.

Particular attention is drawn to the curved pergola with horizontal wooden slats, which creates a smooth curvilinear form that softens the rectangular outlines of the main volume. This architectural technique not only adds dynamics to the composition but also functionally protects from direct sunlight, creating an interesting play of light and shadow on the walls.

The facade possesses multilayered depth thanks to the protruding structural elements. The traditional tiled roof with exposed rafters references local building traditions, while the minimalist approach to details gives the building a contemporary appearance. The architect masterfully organized the transition from the house to the surrounding landscape through a stone garden path and strategically placed boulders, which serve as natural accents and connecting elements between architecture and nature.

The landscaping using bamboo and native plants emphasizes the ecological sensitivity of the project and its integration into the tropical environment. Evening illumination provided by garden lights highlights the texture of the walls and creates a cozy atmosphere along the path to the entrance.

We develop facade projects for country houses.
