#7323. Egyptian Revival: Decorative Art Deco Facade with Egyptian Motifs

The photograph captures a fragment of a building facade in Egyptian style, characteristic of the Art Deco architecture of the early 20th century. The facade is made of light-colored stone with pronounced decorative elements. The central feature is a vertical panel with exquisite Egyptian ornamentation, depicting a winged solar disk (symbol of the god Horus) and stylized plant motifs — lotus and papyrus.

The architectural composition demonstrates typical Egyptian-style reliefs framed by geometric elements. Windows with metal shutters are positioned on the sides of the central panel. Below the windows, there are decorative panels with reliefs featuring a winged disk and garlands. Vertical ribbed columns flank the ornamental panel, creating an effect of monumentality.

The color palette is restrained, with accents of blue, red, and golden colors in the ornaments, which is characteristic of the Egyptian style. The facade exemplifies a magnificent example of "Egyptomania" in European architecture, when ancient Egyptian motifs were reinterpreted and integrated into the modern buildings of the early 20th century.
