#6920. Liggett Building Facade: Historical Eclecticism with Flemish Renaissance Elements

The historic Liggett building represents an excellent example of late 19th - early 20th century commercial architecture, executed in an eclectic style with elements of Flemish Renaissance. The facade demonstrates a masterful combination of yellow and red brick, creating an expressive two-tone contrast characteristic of the architecture of that period.

The upper part of the facade draws special attention with its characteristic stepped gable decorated with ornamental elements and the "LIGGETT" inscription. The arched windows of the second floor with terracotta framings add elegance and rhythm to the facade. The geometric ornament in the form of diamonds between the first and second floors creates an additional decorative accent and emphasizes the historical value of the building.

The facade design uses classical brickwork techniques with protruding elements that create an interplay of light and shadow. The red tile roof with decorative elements completes the composition, giving the building a European character. Such a combination of materials and decorative elements can be successfully adapted in modern facade design to give a building historical depth and architectural expressiveness.
