#689. Historical pharmacy facade with wooden portal and decorative mascarons

The image showcases a luxurious historical entrance portal to a building, executed in an eclectic style with elements of Art Nouveau and Classicism. The doorway is framed by a richly decorated wooden portal in a dark brown shade.

The composition of the portal includes a central door with glazing and side lights, crowned by a triangular pediment with a carved decorative element. Of particular note are the sculptural mascarons in the form of human faces, located on the pilasters flanking the door. Under the pediment, the inscription "APTEKA" (Pharmacy) can be discerned, indicating the historical purpose of the premises.

Ornamental carvings are present throughout the perimeter of the portal, enhancing its artistic expressiveness. Above the portal, one can notice the stucco decoration of the ceiling and an antique pendant light. The building's facade is faced with light-colored stone, creating a contrast with the dark wood of the door.

This architectural element is an excellent example of urban development from the late 19th to early 20th century, when special attention was paid to the decorative design of even utilitarian establishments such as pharmacies.
