#6619. Romanesque Revival: Two-Tone Stone Facade with Corner Tower

The building presented is an excellent example of late 19th century Romanesque Revival architecture. The facade is constructed of light limestone with contrasting elements of reddish-brown sandstone, creating an expressive two-tone composition. The central entrance is designed as a semi-circular arch, flanked by two smaller arches, forming a classic Romanesque portal.

Particularly noteworthy is the round corner tower with a conical dome, adorned with an arcade band of three arched windows. This element gives the building a castle-like character and creates an asymmetrical yet harmonious composition. The roof is covered with terracotta tiles, emphasizing the historical authenticity of the structure.

The second dominant feature of the facade is the wooden balcony with a balustrade above the entrance group, maintaining a dialogue between the massive stone elements and lighter wooden details. The window openings are framed with rectangular frames with wooden muntins, while the upper floor of the tower features arched windows corresponding to the overall Romanesque style.

The staircase leading to the main entrance is made of the same sandstone as the decorative elements, creating a holistic perception of the facade. The presence of mature trees on both sides of the entrance organically incorporates the monumental building into the surrounding landscape.
