Neo-Gothic Manor House with Half-Timbered Façade

#6309. Neo-Gothic Manor House with Half-Timbered Façade

This impressive mansion is a striking example of neo-Gothic architecture with half-timbered elements. The building is constructed of red brick with characteristic dark half-timbering that creates an expressive contrast on the façade. The asymmetrical composition of the structure gives it a picturesque and romantic character.

The façade is richly decorated: numerous bay windows with polygonal outlines, protruding at different levels, adorn the front of the building. The tall pointed roofs with spires and decorative finials add particular expressiveness. The mansard roof with gray slate covering has a complex multi-pitched form.

On the façade, one can see arched windows and doorways characteristic of the neo-Gothic style, as well as decorative brick elements in the lower part of the building, imitating a small fortified wall with battlements. Also eye-catching are the richly designed window frames and stained glass in the bay windows. The wooden half-timbering elements with geometric patterns complement the brickwork, creating a complex textural interplay.

The building is organically integrated into the surrounding landscape, framed by the greenery of trees, which emphasizes its country estate character despite its proximity to the road. This is an excellent example of late 19th - early 20th century architecture, combining historicism and the romantic tendencies of that period.
