Exquisite Art Nouveau Semi-circular Window Opening on a Burgundy Facade

#6039. Exquisite Art Nouveau Semi-circular Window Opening on a Burgundy Facade

Before us is an exquisite example of Art Nouveau architecture, embodied in the design of a window opening on the burgundy facade of a historic building. The central element of the composition is a striking semi-circular window with the characteristic fluid, organic pattern of mullions typical for Art Nouveau. The upper part is formed as a semicircle with radial divisions, creating a fan-like structure.

The window is framed by an elaborately decorated casing made of light-colored stone, contrasting with the rich burgundy color of the wall. Particularly noteworthy is the sculptural decoration at the top of the casing — a floral motif with three-dimensional flower compositions arranged symmetrically along the arch. This botanical ornament, typical of Art Nouveau, gives the structure organicity and elegance.

Below the window is a small balcony with an openwork metal parapet, also executed in the Art Nouveau style with characteristic flowing lines and botanical motifs. The building's facade is further accentuated by vertical pilasters with classical capitals, creating an interesting stylistic dialogue between Art Nouveau and classical architectural elements.

The overall composition demonstrates high craftsmanship and attention to detail characteristic of the flourishing period of Art Nouveau in European architecture of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This is a beautiful example of how a functional element of a building transforms into a work of art, becoming an important component of the aesthetic appearance of the entire facade.
