#6024. Eclectic burgundy façade of a Portuguese café with neo-Gothic and Eastern elements

Before us stands a striking example of eclectic architecture, presumably of Portuguese origin, judging by the "Café-Restaurante Águias D'Ouro" signage on the ground floor. The façade is executed in a rich burgundy color, creating an expressive contrast with the white decorative elements.

The façade demonstrates a mixture of architectural styles. The upper part is adorned with a crenellated parapet featuring decorative spires and fleurons, giving the building a neo-Gothic character. Particularly noteworthy is the central red turret with an onion dome, which references Eastern motifs.

The window openings are diverse in form and design: on the left – a double window with a rounded top in a light frame; in the center of the second floor – a window with a small balcony and wrought iron railing under an expressive red canopy; on the right – a window with stained glass decoration featuring green geometric elements.

The ground floor is designed with arched openings with stylized frames, among which the right arch stands out with a semicircular decorative element above it. The balconies have elegant wrought iron railings with floral motifs. A decorative border between the floors adds visual expressiveness to the façade.

All elements of the façade, despite their stylistic diversity, create a harmonious ensemble typical of architecture from the late 19th to early 20th century, when eclecticism allowed for the combination of various historical and cultural influences in a single building.
