Two-toned Modernist Facade with Decorative Brickwork and Catalan Motifs

#5731. Two-toned Modernist Facade with Decorative Brickwork and Catalan Motifs

The facade of this building is a remarkable example of a modernist interpretation of Catalan Art Nouveau, combining traditional and decorative elements. The upper part of the structure is made of red brick with characteristic ornamental masonry creating a geometric pattern of crosses. The composition is crowned by a green ceramic tile roof with semi-circular elements.

On the upper level, there are three arched openings, framed by decorative columns with Corinthian-style capitals. Particularly noteworthy are the turquoise mosaic panels that fill the spaces on either side of the central window with green wooden shutters. Small round decorative elements with floral ornaments are placed beneath the arches.

The lower part of the facade is rendered in white and decorated with coral ornamental motifs resembling stylized flowers and insects. The central window of the lower tier is adorned with a decorative balcony featuring two terracotta pots and is framed by a figured stone portal. Star-shaped coral ornaments can be seen around the perimeter of the white section of the facade.

This facade is an excellent example of a synthesis of architectural styles, where modernist aesthetics intertwine with elements of traditional Spanish and Catalan architecture, creating an expressive and memorable appearance.
