#5728. Pink Modernist Façade with Biomorphic Decoration and Sculptural Mask

What we see here is a striking example of modernist architecture with distinct Catalan Art Nouveau influences. The façade is painted in a soft pink color, creating a gentle yet expressive contrast with the white decorative elements. The central component of the composition is a narrow vertical window with green wooden shutters, framed by elegant wave-like ornamental patterns.

Particularly noteworthy is the upper decorative element above the window—a sculptural face or mask with an expressive mouth, resembling a stylized mythological creature. This element serves not only a decorative function but possibly acts as part of the drainage system, which is characteristic of modernist architecture where functional elements are often transformed into artistic features.

The wave-like patterns surrounding the window demonstrate an organic, biomorphic approach to decoration, typical of early 20th century Art Nouveau. Curved lines, spirals, and plant-inspired motifs create a sense of movement and life on the static wall surface. The composition is completed by the upper section with its wavy silhouette, giving the façade a recognizable individuality.
