Exquisite Art Nouveau Facade: Portal with Rich Stucco Work and Wooden Door

#5727. Exquisite Art Nouveau Facade: Portal with Rich Stucco Work and Wooden Door

The image displays a magnificent example of early 20th century Art Nouveau architecture — an elegant doorway portal of a residential building. This entrance features luxurious stucco work framing a wooden double door. The richly decorated facade with number 56/255 demonstrates the characteristic flowing, fluid lines and botanical motifs typical of the Art Nouveau style.

The lavish stucco framing is executed in a light tone, creating a striking contrast with the natural wood of the door. Asymmetrical wave-like elements above the entrance create a dynamic composition. The botanical ornament includes stylized flowers and leaves, typical of the floral direction of Art Nouveau. Particularly noteworthy are the curved volutes and the convex central cartouche above the door.

The door itself is a splendid specimen of woodworking craftsmanship, made of warm honey-toned wood. The double-leaf construction has an arched top that harmonizes with the portal's shape. Numerous narrow rectangular glass inserts form a geometric pattern, providing natural light to the interior space while maintaining privacy. The door leaves are divided into upper and lower sections, which is characteristic of urban houses of this period.

A marble threshold completes the composition, emphasizing the prestigious nature of the entrance group. The combination of exquisite stucco work and warm wood creates an impression of elegance and respectability, characteristic of tenement houses in prestigious areas of European cities from the beginning of the last century.
