Shingle Style Country House: Elegant Façade with Stone Masonry and Turret Elements

#5707. Shingle Style Country House: Elegant Façade with Stone Masonry and Turret Elements

This country house exemplifies a beautiful modern interpretation of the traditional Shingle style with Tudor architectural elements. The façade showcases a harmonious combination of several natural materials: cedar shingles, natural stone, and decorative wooden elements.

The composition of the façade is characterized by asymmetry and picturesqueness. The round turret with a conical roof creates a special character for the building, projecting forward to create a visual focal point. Notable are the triangular roof gables with characteristic dark wooden elements that reference Tudor style. The mansard roof with varying slopes masterfully unifies the different volumes of the building into a cohesive composition.

The color palette of the façade is maintained in natural tones: the warm sandy shade of the shingles harmonizes with the gray-beige stone and dark green window frames and doors. The stonework of the first floor and select elements of the second floor creates a sense of solidity and connection to the earth. Large windows, especially the bay window in the turret section, provide abundant natural light to the interior spaces.

The landscape design in front of the house, featuring perennial plants and natural stone, complements the architectural concept, emphasizing the organic quality and connection with the natural surroundings. The covered porch with wooden posts creates a cozy transitional space between the house and garden, while traditional Adirondack chairs invite outdoor relaxation.
