#5277. Elegant Facade of an Urban Mansion in French Baroque Style

Before us stands an outstanding example of residential architecture in the French Baroque (Beaux-Arts) style, embodied in a compact urban mansion. The facade presents a masterfully executed composition of light-colored stone with a characteristic mansard roof covered in dark slate, creating a striking contrast.

The central part of the facade is accentuated by a richly decorated portal above the entrance door and a luxurious balcony with an elegant wrought iron railing. Of particular note are the sculptural elements — caryatids flanking the entrance group, visually supporting the second-floor balcony. The upper part of the facade is crowned with an exquisite stucco pediment featuring a decorative cartouche, lending the building an aristocratic character.

The window openings are framed with finely detailed casings with baroque elements, while on the second floor, the central window is distinguished by particularly rich decorative framing. The mansard roof with its characteristic curve is complemented by a round window in an ornate frame and a small tower, enhancing the vertical dynamics of the entire composition.

The landscaping of the entrance group with small symmetrical plantings and decorative planters emphasizes the classical nature of the architecture. The approach to the house is formed by a laconic staircase, giving the facade additional monumentality and stateliness, despite the relatively small size of the building itself.
