Victorian Mansion with Filigree Cast Iron Facade

#5164. Victorian Mansion with Filigree Cast Iron Facade

This is a magnificent example of Victorian architecture with elements of iron lacework — a mansion in the "boom-era" style, executed in a restrained white and gray palette. The two-story facade of building number 75 demonstrates exquisite metalwork and stucco decoration, characteristic of affluent urban development from the late 19th century.

The facade is adorned with luxurious decorative cast iron lacework, creating filigree arch galleries on both floors. Particularly expressive are the semi-circular arched windows with elegant framing and the second-floor balustrade, showcasing virtuoso casting. The second floor is accentuated by a low parapet with a curved pediment in the center of the building, crowned with ornamental molding.

Decorative columns with relief capitals and mascarons in the form of lion heads are positioned at the edges of the facade. Elegant brackets support the protruding elements of the cornice. The lower floor is framed by a neat fence of wrought iron pikes with pointed tips, and the entrance is marked by a number on the door panel.

This specimen of urban architecture represents a typical city mansion of its era in a row of similar structures, but stands out for the exceptional preservation of architectural details and the integrity of its artistic concept.
