Elegant Brick Facade in Northern Art Nouveau Style with Asymmetrical Composition

#4923. Elegant Brick Facade in Northern Art Nouveau Style with Asymmetrical Composition

Before us stands an expressive example of brick architecture from the late 19th - early 20th century, likely executed in a style close to Northern Art Nouveau or Neo-Gothic. The building's facade demonstrates a characteristic asymmetrical composition with rich plasticity and meticulously crafted details.

The three-story volume of the building has an interesting stepped configuration, where several projections and bay windows stand out. The masonry is made of light-colored brick with decorative elements of darker brick, creating a rhythmic ornamental pattern on the facade. Particular attention is drawn to the gables of various shapes: triangular on the left and a rounded pediment on the right.

The window openings are diverse in shape and size — from large rectangular windows on the first floor to elegant multi-paned windows on the upper floors with characteristic mullion divisions. The central entrance is framed by a semi-circular arch, giving the composition solemnity. Above the entrance is a small wrought iron balcony with elegant railings, which becomes an important element of the facade composition.

The complex configuration of the roof with dormer windows complements the architectural appearance of the building, emphasizing both its monumentality and picturesqueness. The decorative details — cornices, string courses, window surrounds — are executed with great craftsmanship and attention to proportions.
