Elegant Art Nouveau: Facade with Distinctive Circular Windows and Green Accents

#4661. Elegant Art Nouveau: Facade with Distinctive Circular Windows and Green Accents

Before us is a magnificent example of Art Nouveau architecture, showcasing the characteristic features of this early 20th century movement. The facade is constructed of light-colored brick with expressive green horizontal accents, creating a rhythmic geometric pattern. Especially noteworthy is the central composition of the facade with two levels of arched elements.

The lower level presents a monumental circular window-portal, framed by multi-layered brickwork with alternating green inserts that create a radial ornament effect. This element is typical of Art Nouveau and gives the building a unique, memorable appearance. The elegant wrought iron railing of a small balcony under the window complements the composition, demonstrating the plasticity of metallic forms characteristic of Art Nouveau.

The upper level features a semicircular window with a balcony, framed by a similar but less massive decorative pattern. The wrought iron balcony railing repeats the motifs of the lower element, creating stylistic unity. Narrow vertical windows are placed on the sides, emphasizing the asymmetrical yet balanced composition of the facade.

The decorative relief above the upper balcony completes the composition, adding elegant refinement to the building. The skillful play of geometric forms, the combination of functionality and decorativeness, and the curvilinear elements characteristic of Art Nouveau make this facade an outstanding example of the architecture of its period.
