Polychrome Moorish-Style Facade Decoration

#4611. Polychrome Moorish-Style Facade Decoration

The image shows a fragment of a decorative architectural element of a facade, executed in a vibrant polychrome style. We are looking at part of a cornice or protruding frame, possibly above a window or building entrance.

The detail is distinguished by rich use of colored ceramic tiles. The composition includes a rhythmic alternation of yellow rectangular elements with floral motifs in dark pink and green stems, separated by dark brown tiles. The upper edge is framed with blue tiles, creating a color accent.

Of particular note are the corner elements with ornamental motifs on blue and yellow backgrounds, as well as the figured protrusions in the upper part, painted in yellow, blue, and orange colors. These details give the structure volume and plasticity.

This architectural element demonstrates the influence of Moorish style with its love for bright colors and floral ornaments, which was characteristic of Art Nouveau from the early 20th century or regional architecture with Spanish-Moorish roots.
