#4588. Elegant Art Nouveau Townhouse Façade: A Harmonious Blend of Brick, Stone, and Metalwork

The building presented here is a striking example of Art Nouveau architecture, likely from the late 19th to early 20th century. The façade exhibits a rich combination of materials and decorative elements characteristic of this style. The dark red brick masonry forms the main volume of the building, contrasting with light stone inserts and decorative elements.

Of particular note is the elegant metal balcony on the upper floor with its delicate ornamental pattern and wrought iron railing, typical of Art Nouveau with its flowing, organic lines. Below this balcony are tall windows framed by decorative metal panels with geometric patterns in the lower section.

The window openings of the building vary in shape and size, creating a dynamic visual rhythm across the façade. The arched windows on the upper floors with stone framing and decorative inserts are especially prominent. The architect masterfully used contrast of materials – stone, metal, glass, and brick – creating a sophisticated textural composition.

The lower level of the building is constructed from rough stone, giving the façade a certain massiveness and stability that contrasts with the elegance of the upper floors. The doorway on the right side is designed with the asymmetry characteristic of Art Nouveau. Overall, the building represents an excellent example of urban Art Nouveau architecture, combining functionality with artistic expressiveness.
