#4054. Richly decorated wooden facade in Neo-Russian style with carved elements

This specimen represents an impressive example of a richly decorated wooden facade in the Neo-Russian style with Art Nouveau elements. The building features exquisite wood carving, characteristic of traditional Russian wooden architecture, yet adapted for a brick foundation.

The facade is finished in ochre-yellow tones with dark brown accent elements. Particularly noteworthy are the numerous decorative details: openwork valances, carved window frames with semi-circular completions, figured brackets, and cornices. Each window is framed by skillfully carved wooden elements, creating the effect of distinctive portals.

The architectural composition of the facade is strictly symmetrical, with a rhythmic alternation of windows and decorative panels. Of special interest are the carved wooden panels below some windows, executed in deep relief carving technique. The upper part of the facade is crowned with a decorative pediment featuring elements characteristic of Russian wooden architecture.

The contrast between the brickwork and wooden decor creates a unique visual effect, where the strict geometry of the brick facade is softened by the organic, flowing lines of wooden elements. This is a vivid example of the synthesis of traditional Russian motifs with architectural trends of the late 19th - early 20th century.
