Art Nouveau Facade with Egyptian Motifs and Mosaic Panel

#2707. Art Nouveau Facade with Egyptian Motifs and Mosaic Panel

Before us is an expressive example of Art Nouveau from the early 20th century with distinct Egyptian motifs. The central element of the composition is a monumental door portal made of dark wood and framed by rich architectural decor. The entrance group consists of a double-leaf door with elegant carvings and decorative metal inserts in the lower part.

Particularly noteworthy is the decoration above the door — a magnificent mosaic panel depicting a stylized Egyptian winged deity, presumably the falcon god Horus. The mosaic features a characteristic color palette: blue, green, orange, and purple shades predominate, creating a bright coloristic accent on the facade. The arched framing of the portal is adorned with meticulously crafted stucco floral ornaments in a golden hue, giving the entrance special solemnity.

The facade of the building has a yellowish tint, creating a successful contrast with the dark wood of the door and the vibrant mosaic. Information plaques are located on both sides of the entrance, indicating the public purpose of the building. The stylistic solution of the facade with Egyptian motifs is characteristic of Art Nouveau and certain modern styles that were popular in European architecture at the turn of the 19th-20th centuries.
