Exquisite Art Nouveau: Stained Glass Portal with Decorative Framing on an Early 20th Century Façade

#2701. Exquisite Art Nouveau: Stained Glass Portal with Decorative Framing on an Early 20th Century Façade

Before us is an expressive example of Art Nouveau architecture from the early 20th century. The door portal presents a sumptuously decorated composition where sculptural elements and stained glass harmoniously combine. The foundation of the portal consists of a monumental stone framing with an asymmetrical, flowing form characteristic of Art Nouveau, resembling a stylized horseshoe.

The upper part of the portal is crowned with a semicircular stained glass window featuring geometric ornaments in blue and red-pink tones. Below it lies the doorway, also adorned with a stained glass semicircular headpiece with a similar color scheme. The door itself is made of dark metal with decorative elements typical of the Art Nouveau era.

On both sides of the central portal, two oval windows are symmetrically positioned with metal grilles of original design, where horizontal bars are complemented by decorative elements in a golden hue. This solution creates a rhythmic unity throughout the entire façade composition.

Particularly noteworthy is the rich sculptural decoration of the portal with floral motifs, scrolls, and garlands, executed with the plasticity characteristic of Art Nouveau. The façade has light-colored plaster, creating an expressive contrast with the sandy-toned stone portal and the dark elements of the door.

This architectural element demonstrates typical Art Nouveau features: organic, flowing forms, synthesis of various art forms (architecture, sculpture, stained glass), attention to detail, and decorative quality while maintaining functionality.
