Dragon Lamp: An Exquisite Art Nouveau Element on a Historic Facade

#2600. Dragon Lamp: An Exquisite Art Nouveau Element on a Historic Facade

The photograph captures a magnificent example of decorative street lighting installed on the facade of a historic building. We are looking at an exquisite wall lamp created in Art Nouveau or Neo-Gothic style, characteristic of architecture from the late 19th to early 20th centuries.

The fixture presents a complex metalwork composition featuring two suspended teardrop-shaped frosted glass shades and an upper rectangular lantern. Particular attention is drawn to the rich decorative element in the form of a dragon or fantastic creature that wraps around the central part of the structure. The metalwork demonstrates exceptional casting craftsmanship with numerous elegant curls, curves, and ornamental details.

The building facade itself is made of light-colored sandstone or limestone with characteristic architectural elements - fragments of the cornice and decorative window framing are visible. Such decorative lamps not only served the functional role of illumination but were also important aesthetic elements of the architectural ensemble, emphasizing the status of the building and the artistic taste of the era.

We design facade renovations of country houses.
