Modern two-story house with minimalist concrete and wood facade

#18067. Modern two-story house with minimalist concrete and wood facade

The presented example demonstrates an excellent specimen of modern residential architecture with clean lines and a harmonious combination of materials. This two-story house features a minimalist facade design where concrete, wood, and glass create an expressive composition characteristic of contemporary modernism.

The building's facade is organized according to the principle of contrasting volumes. The lower level is made of monolithic concrete with large panoramic windows, creating a solid foundation for the structure. The upper floor is partially clad in wood with a warm honey tone that softens the severity of the concrete surfaces. The cantilevered roof with wooden soffit looks particularly impressive, creating a sense of lightness and visually expanding the terrace space.

The open terrace with metal railings on the second floor allows one to fully enjoy the surrounding landscape. Large glass sliding doors blur the boundary between interior and exterior, filling the space with natural light. Next to the main building is a garage with wooden cladding that maintains the overall stylistic concept of the project.

The landscape design is executed in a drought-resistant style using local plants and ornamental grasses, emphasizing the ecological nature of the project. Concrete retaining walls form a terraced site, while a minimalist pathway leads to the house entrance.

When designing your own facade, you can borrow several techniques from this project: the use of contrasting materials (warm wood and cool concrete), creating projecting elements for visual interest, the application of large glazed surfaces to connect with the surrounding environment, and the use of cantilevered roofing to create protected open spaces.
