Modular Green Facade: Eco-Friendly Solution with Concrete Blocks

#17700. Modular Green Facade: Eco-Friendly Solution with Concrete Blocks

This fragment demonstrates an interesting example of vertical greening and a modular constructive approach to creating an eco-friendly facade. The system presented consists of white concrete blocks arranged in a stepped manner, creating a multi-level structure for growing various plants.

The architectural solution is remarkable for its functionality — each module serves simultaneously as a structural element and a container for greenery. Such facade design can be viewed as a modern interpretation of vertical gardens, where structural elements of the building actively participate in forming a living, changing appearance of the structure.

It is particularly important to note the biodiversity of plants, including both decorative flowering species and larger green plantings. In the upper part of the composition, one can observe tall grasses, while the lower tiers are filled with more compact species with diverse foliage coloration, creating a harmonious visual transition between levels.

This approach to facade design allows solving several tasks at once: improving the thermal insulation of the building, creating a microclimate, filtering air, and, of course, aesthetically enriching the architectural object. When adapting this technique for a private home, similar modular elements of different geometries can be used to create a green screen that will change depending on the season.
