Modern facade with textural contrast: stone base and wooden slats

#17269. Modern facade with textural contrast: stone base and wooden slats

This modern architectural work represents a striking combination of textures and materials, forming an elegant and functional space. The building's facade demonstrates masterful use of contrasting elements: a massive stone base made of layered gray stone creates an impression of solidity and rootedness, while the upper level with its abundance of glass and vertical wooden slats brings lightness and airiness.

Particular attention is drawn to the rhythmic alternation of wooden vertical elements that simultaneously perform several functions: they serve as sun protection screens, visually unify the space, and create an interplay of light and shadow. The black roof with protruding eaves effectively frames the entire composition, giving the building a finished look and protecting the panoramic glazing from direct sunlight.

The terrace landscaping is organically integrated into the architecture, softening the transition between artificial structures and the natural environment. This solution is not only aesthetically appealing but also ecological, creating additional thermal insulation and improving the microclimate.

When designing a facade for a private home, several techniques from this project can be adopted: combining textures (stone and wood), using vertical wooden slats for sun protection and privacy, integrating landscaping into the architecture, and contrasting a heavy base with a visually lightweight upper level. These techniques help create a modern, ecological, and aesthetically pleasing building that harmoniously fits into its surroundings.

We design facades of country houses.
