Organic facade with wooden slats: fluidity of forms in contemporary architecture

#16787. Organic facade with wooden slats: fluidity of forms in contemporary architecture

This modern residential house represents an excellent example of organic architecture with an expressive facade. The upper volume, clad in vertical wooden slats of a warm brown hue, dramatically floats above the first floor thanks to the flowing white structure of the floor slab. The curved forms of the building create an impression of movement and dynamics, particularly noticeable in the bends of the white canopy that unifies both levels.

The contrast of materials and textures deserves special attention: smooth white surfaces of the lower level are juxtaposed with the rhythmic vertical cladding of the upper volume. Large panoramic windows with wooden frames provide abundant natural light and visual connection with the surrounding landscape. The facade design demonstrates a masterful combination of aesthetics and functionality, where each element serves its purpose.

When designing your own house, several techniques used here can be adopted: contrasting combination of materials, playing with geometry and lines, using cantilever projections to create visual lightness of the structure. Vertical slats are not only a decorative element but can also serve as sun protection, making them a practical solution for a modern residential house.
