#16462. Traditional European double door in an arched opening with artistic ironwork elements on a pink sandstone facade

This exquisite entrance door is a fine example of traditional European architecture with Art Nouveau elements. Made of solid wood, the double-leaf door is harmoniously set within an arched opening carved from pink sandstone. The decorative design deserves special attention: the door panels are adorned with X-shaped crossings featuring diamond-shaped glass inserts that provide natural lighting to the entryway.

The upper part of the portal is decorated with a semicircular wrought iron element featuring elegant curls and ornamental grape clusters, giving the entire composition a refined and somewhat romantic character. The lower part of the door panels is embellished with circular medallions featuring floral motifs, and also includes a traditional mail slot.

When designing a facade for your own home, several techniques from this specimen can be adopted: combining natural materials (stone and wood), using arched forms to create an expressive portal, and applying decorative wrought iron elements to add elegance. It's also worth noting the proportional relationship between solid and glazed parts of the door, which maintains privacy without sacrificing natural light.
