Luxurious Decorative Façade of Casa de San Luis: Eclecticism in Neo-Baroque and Art Nouveau Spirit

#16377. Luxurious Decorative Façade of Casa de San Luis: Eclecticism in Neo-Baroque and Art Nouveau Spirit

Before us stands a magnificent example of eclectic architecture — "Casa de San Luis". The façade represents a rich composition executed in a style that combines elements of neo-baroque and Art Nouveau, which was characteristic of Argentine and Spanish architecture from the early 20th century.

Particularly impressive is the rich decorative façade design, featuring numerous relief elements. The main entrance is framed by a semi-circular arch with ornamental details. Above the central part of the façade is a small balcony with an elegant wrought iron railing, supported by sculptural brackets.

The façade has a clear vertical articulation with columns in the upper part, as well as horizontal division into tiers with different decorative treatments. Notable are the double windows with arched tops and rich ornamental finishing.

Of special interest is the right side of the façade with a symbolic wheel (possibly a rosette) and a patterned door, as well as the balustrade at the top of the building. The color scheme is built on nuances of beige and brown with a contrasting base made of polished granite.

Similar decoration techniques can be creatively interpreted in modern projects: the use of arched elements, decorative inserts in wall sections, and combination of different textures and materials to create an expressive architectural composition.
