Floating Wooden Facade: Contrasting Geometry of a Modern House

#15817. Floating Wooden Facade: Contrasting Geometry of a Modern House

This is a modern residential house that demonstrates a harmonious combination of contrasting materials and forms. The facade is created according to the principle of clean geometric lines, where the upper volume is clad with vertical wooden slats, creating an expressive accent against the white walls of the lower floors. Particularly interesting is the solution of the protruding upper level with wooden cladding, which creates a floating effect and adds dynamism to the building.

The white plastered facade of the lower floors is complemented by expressive horizontal elements — balconies with dark railings, which create an interesting play of light and shadow. The staircase leading to the main entrance is organically integrated into the overall composition of the building, emphasizing its multi-level structure. The architect skillfully used landscaping as part of the design — plants on balconies and around the house soften the geometric shapes of the building.

In the facade of this house, you can derive several techniques for your own dwelling: the use of contrasting materials (wood and plaster), playing with protruding volumes to create dynamics, integration of open spaces in the form of terraces and balconies, as well as the inclusion of natural elements in the architectural composition. The dark metal framing elements of the wooden cladding create a clear outline and enhance the expressiveness of the facade.
