Modern Contrasting Facade: Interplay of Stone, Brick and Glass

#15761. Modern Contrasting Facade: Interplay of Stone, Brick and Glass

Before me is a striking example of modern residential architecture, where various textures and materials are harmoniously combined. The building facade presents an interesting composition of light stone (possibly sandstone or travertine), red brick, and white inserts. This interplay of materials creates a dynamic yet balanced appearance.

Particularly notable are the protruding volumetric elements on the main facade — white cubic volumes with panoramic glazing that add depth to the building and create an interesting play of light and shadow. The architect skillfully used the contrast between smooth and textured surfaces: monolithic light stone juxtaposed with rough brickwork.

The lower level of the house is framed by a perforated brick wall, creating both privacy and visual lightness. The external staircase with metal railings serves as both a functional and aesthetic element connecting the building's levels. Greenery on the balconies and around the house softens the strict geometry of the structure.

In your own facade design, you could adopt several techniques: combining different materials to create textural contrast, using protruding volumes for facade dynamics, thoughtful glazing that creates interesting reflections, and integrating greenery elements to soften geometric forms.
