The presented residential house demonstrates an interesting example of Northern European architecture with a characteristic combination of traditional and modern elements. The facade is finished in a pleasant peach (or terracotta) shade, giving the structure a warm, welcoming appearance. Particularly noteworthy is the gabled roof with its characteristically steep angle, covered with terracotta tiles—a solution typical for Scandinavian and Northern European buildings.
The asymmetrical composition of the facade creates a dynamic, lively image. The architectural volume is complemented by an extension with panoramic glazing on the right side of the building, making the architectural image more complex and interesting. The window frames, painted green, serve as an expressive contrasting element against the background of the peach facade.
The entrance area is decorated with a small porch with a canopy supported by wooden posts, and is complemented by a veranda with wooden railings on the side. These elements give the house a cozy, traditional character. The clear separation of the foundation (executed in gray) visually "lifts" the main volume of the building above the ground.
This project demonstrates several techniques that can be applied when designing the facade of your own home: using contrasting color accents for window frames and doors; combining different textures (plaster for the main facade and wooden elements for the porch); clear delineation of the foundation; asymmetrical compositional solutions to create a dynamic image; and the use of traditional architectural elements (steep gabled roof, tile covering) to give the house a distinctive style.
