Coastal House with Lighthouse Tower: Modern Facade with Traditional Materials

#14878. Coastal House with Lighthouse Tower: Modern Facade with Traditional Materials

Before us stands an expressive residential house with an original architectural solution, where the façade is dominated by a tower structure reminiscent of a lighthouse or an observation tower. The exterior is designed in a coastal style using light gray wooden shingles that cover both the main part of the house and the tower. Contrasting black elements – the roofing, window frames, and entrance portal – create clear graphics and emphasize the structure of the building.

Special attention is drawn to the glass superstructure of the tower with panoramic windows, which not only serves as a source of natural light but also creates the impression of a lighthouse or observation deck. Such facade design suggests that the upper level offers a beautiful view of the surroundings, possibly overlooking a body of water or picturesque landscape.

The entrance area is designed with a minimalist but expressive portico with a triangular canopy, supporting the overall style of the building. The foundation of the house is decorated with stones, creating a natural transition between the structure and the surrounding landscape. Simple concrete steps and neat flower containers complement the composition without overloading it with decorative elements.

This is an excellent example of how traditional materials can be used in a modern interpretation. Borrowing techniques from this project, one could apply a contrasting combination of natural finishes and clean geometric forms to their own home, highlight functional areas using various architectural volumes, and utilize vertical dominants to create an expressive silhouette of the building.
