#14032. Moorish facade with horseshoe arch and geometric ornament

Before us is a magnificent example of Moorish architecture with characteristic elements of Islamic decorative art. The facade features an exquisite horseshoe arch with scalloped edges, creating an elegant silhouette against the richly decorated wall. Particularly impressive is the contrast between the warm ochre walls and the vibrant geometric tile mosaic (zellige) in the lower part of the composition.

The decorative treatment of the upper arch deserves special attention — here we see the finest sebka-style carving forming a diamond-patterned grid with floral motifs. This technique creates a sense of lightness and airiness despite the massiveness of the structure. White marble columns with decorative capitals elegantly support the arched construction, adding classical elements to the architectural ensemble.

For modern facade design, several techniques can be borrowed from this example: the contrasting combination of textures and materials, the use of arched elements to create an expressive silhouette, and the zoning of decorative elements by height.
