Deconstructivist Facade: A Dialogue of Concrete and Purple Metal in a Mountain Landscape

#12964. Deconstructivist Facade: A Dialogue of Concrete and Purple Metal in a Mountain Landscape

The presented building demonstrates a striking example of modern deconstructivist architecture, where traditional forms are deliberately dismantled in favor of dynamic geometry. The facade consists of two distinct parts: a lower concrete base with inclined planes and an upper portion featuring a purple-tinted metal roof.

The lower volume of the building is made of concrete with diagonal geometry, creating an impression of movement and instability. The concrete panels are laid at an angle, adding textural interest to the monolithic surface. The upper part of the structure features sharp angles and triangular forms, emphasized by the metal roofing with vertical seams that takes on a purple hue in certain lighting conditions.

Particularly noteworthy are the triangular glass elements that create a striking contrast with the opaque surfaces and provide natural illumination to the interior space. The evening interior lighting shining through the glass creates the effect of a glowing crystal against the backdrop of the majestic mountain landscape.

In your own facade design project, you could borrow techniques such as the contrasting combination of materials (metal and concrete), the use of non-standard geometry to create dynamism, thoughtful placement of glazing for natural lighting, and playing with interior light to create an expressive nighttime image of the building. It's also worth noting how the architect considered the surrounding landscape, creating a dialogue between the man-made structure and the natural mountain relief.
