Wavelike Brick Facade with Circular Porthole Windows

#12587. Wavelike Brick Facade with Circular Porthole Windows

The facade of this modern building is a magnificent example of experimental brick architecture. The light-colored brick, laid with exceptional precision, creates a monolithic textured surface that is simultaneously massive and detailed. The upper part of the facade features a smooth wave-like line that gives the building a recognizable silhouette and breaks away from the traditional rectangular form.

The round porthole windows on the facade deserve special attention. Four small circles at the bottom and one medium-sized one above create a rhythmic composition and give the building nautical, almost ship-like associations. The brickwork around the portholes is executed in a radial pattern, emphasizing the shape of the windows and demonstrating high craftsmanship.

The protruding balcony with metal railings and the recessed entrance add depth and volume to the facade, creating an interplay of light and shadow. The contrast between the smooth surface of the balcony slab and the textured brickwork enhances the architectural expressiveness of the building.

Such techniques can be adapted for private home construction: a wave-shaped wall termination instead of a classic straight cornice, round windows as accent elements, playing with material texture and the specific patterns of brick laying can make even a small house architecturally expressive and memorable.
