Floating White Facade with Integrated Greenery

#12173. Floating White Facade with Integrated Greenery

This modern residential house is a magnificent example of biophilic design, where architecture seamlessly merges with nature. The building's facade showcases a bold interplay of geometric forms: the minimalist white cube of the upper floor dramatically hovers over the lower level, creating a dynamic cantilever. Particularly noteworthy is the contrast between the strict white surfaces and the abundant greenery that is integrated into the building's architecture.

Several key elements can be identified on the facade: flat green terraces on the roof and intermediate levels, panoramic glazing with thin black frames, vertical wooden slats on part of the facade that create a textural contrast with the white walls. The round porthole window on the lower level adds an unexpected accent and breaks up the geometric strictness of the composition.

The multi-level structure of the building allows for the organization of various functional zones: a private upper section, a semi-open space under the cantilever, and an open terrace with access to the swimming pool. This zoning technique emphasizes the connection between interior and exterior, creating a smooth transition between them.

When designing your own facade, several techniques from this project could be adopted: the use of contrasting materials (white walls and wooden elements), integration of vegetation directly into the building's architecture, playing with volume geometry to create interesting spatial solutions, and the clever use of glazing to ensure a visual connection with the surrounding environment.
