The building presented showcases an excellent example of contemporary minimalist architecture with an emphasis on natural materials. The facade is clad with vertical wooden panels, creating a warm, organic appearance that contrasts with the neighboring brick buildings of traditional style.
Particularly noteworthy is the cantilever construction, where the upper floors seem to float above the transparent ground level. The lower floor is executed using glass and concrete, creating an effect of lightness for the massive wooden structure above. This solution also allows for a covered parking area beneath the building.
The window openings are placed asymmetrically, giving the facade a dynamic quality. Some windows appear as vertical slots, while others present as large glass surfaces, breaking up the monolithic nature of the wooden cladding. An interesting detail is the vertical wooden slats that in places create a textural contrast with the main cladding.
When designing your own facade, several techniques from this project could be noted: the use of contrasting materials (wood and glass), playing with cantilever projections to create dynamic architectural volume, asymmetrical placement of window openings, and using different textures of the same material to create visual interest.
