#11567. Cascading Facade: Modern Wooden House on a Rocky Slope

This modern building is a striking example of eco-friendly architecture organically integrated into the rocky natural landscape. The facade, clad with vertical wooden panels in a gray shade, demonstrates a harmonious combination of strict geometry and natural materials. Particularly noteworthy is the interplay of textures – vertical planks form a rhythmic pattern that partially transitions into decorative lattice elements, creating a semi-transparent effect.

The architectural composition is built on the contrast of a massive upper volume that seems to float above the lower level thanks to a large terrace with minimalist glass railings. The thoughtful glazing system creates an interesting dialogue between interior and exterior — large panoramic windows allow natural light to penetrate inside, while in the evening, interior lighting creates the effect of a glowing volume. The wooden finish of the terrace ceiling adds warmth to the overall cool palette of the facade.

The design uses a technique of contrasting textures: the upper part of the facade is finished with wood, while the lower level has a more technological metal cladding, creating an interesting visual tension. This approach to facade design can be noted when designing a private home — combining natural and modern materials helps create a unique appearance, while the stepped arrangement of volumes allows for efficient use of a complex terrain.
