#11560. Mountain Retreat with Copper Lattice Facade

This outstanding architectural composition represents a unique blend of modern design with elements of Middle Eastern aesthetics. The main feature of the facade is an exquisite lattice screen (mashrabiya), made of copper-toned metal or wood, which envelops a significant portion of the building. These perforated panels create an interplay of light and shadow inside the space, simultaneously providing privacy and connection with the surrounding nature.

The building's structure demonstrates an interesting dualism of materials: on one side, a geometric latticed facade with clean lines and repeating ornamental motifs, and on the other, a cylindrical element clad in natural wooden shingles. This contrast of forms and textures gives the building a dynamic yet harmonious appearance. Vertical glass elements integrated between sections of the facade allow natural light to penetrate inside, creating a balance between enclosure and openness.

The building's position in the mountainous landscape emphasizes the dialogue between architecture and nature—the cantilevered structure seems to float above the slope, respectfully integrating into the surrounding environment. The lower level with the garage is organically integrated into the terrain, while the landscaping with local vegetation softens the transition between architecture and natural surroundings.

Similar techniques can be adapted for private home construction: using perforated screens as both functional and decorative elements, combining different natural materials to create textural contrast, and designing with consideration for landscape features and orientation to maximize natural lighting.
