#11444. Contrasting facade with cantilever design: synthesis of concrete, stone and wood

The presented object demonstrates a captivating example of modern residential architecture, where brutal concrete forms and natural materials are skillfully combined. The building's facade is built on the contrast of two main volumes: a massive stone base with textural natural stone cladding and a light, seemingly floating white concrete block of the second floor with a cantilevered projection.

The work with facade materials deserves special attention. The lower level is faced with stone masonry in warm gray-brown shades, which creates an impression of solidity and connection to the earth. The upper floor is made of monolithic concrete with a smooth surface, which enhances the effect of lightness and emphasizes the bold structural solution of the cantilever. Wooden window frames in a warm copper shade create a necessary accent and soften the strictness of the composition.

Large glass surfaces provide excellent insolation of interior spaces and create a visual connection between interior and exterior. The horizontal lines of the building are emphasized by metal railings of the terrace, which gives the entire appearance a modern industrial character. It's worth noting the original roof with a pronounced slope and wooden soffit, adding dynamics to the object.

This project offers several techniques that can be used in your own home: contrasting combination of materials (stone-concrete-wood), playing with cantilever structures to create a visual "floating" effect, using large glazed surfaces in wooden frames, as well as integrating the house into the landscape using terraces and green areas.
