#11416. Contrasting Facade with Dynamic Wooden Slats

This is a modern example of a private residential house with an expressive architectural facade solution. The project demonstrates an interesting contrast of materials: the main volume of the building is clad in dark horizontal panels that create a strict geometric background, while sections of the facade are finished with vertical wooden slats in a warm honey shade.

Particularly impressive is the dynamic character of the wooden elements, which are organized as volumetric projections framing the window openings. These wooden structures serve not only a decorative function but also act as sun protection, creating a play of light and shadow on the facade depending on the time of day and the position of the sun.

The laconic form of the building—a clear cubic geometry, complemented by a thoughtful rhythm of wooden slats—creates a modern house where minimalism coexists with the tactility and warmth of natural materials. The architect skillfully used the contrasting combination of horizontal and vertical lines, which gives the composition dynamism despite the simple form of the building.

This approach to facade design can be adopted when designing a private home: combining different materials and textures, playing with the geometry of facade elements, and creating functional decorative elements that simultaneously solve practical issues such as sun protection and visual zoning.
