Before us is a small modern cottage executed in a minimalist style with elements of eco-design. The facade is clad with natural wood – horizontal boards in a warm brown shade, creating an organic connection with the surrounding nature. A distinctive feature of the structure is the asymmetrical single-pitch roof with metal covering, which gives the building a dynamic and contemporary appearance.
The front part of the cottage is adorned with panoramic windows with wooden frames, which not only provide good natural lighting to the interior space but also visually expand it, creating an effect of merging with nature. The porch with a small wooden deck organically continues the architectural ensemble.
The landscape design around the cottage is executed in Japanese style using a contrast of textures: a smooth green lawn, decorative gravel, and tall cereal plants. A solitary tree in front of the house serves as a natural sun protection element and creates additional privacy.
This project demonstrates how natural materials can be used in facade design to create a cozy, environmentally friendly space. For your own home, you could borrow the technique of combining wooden cladding with large glazed areas, using asymmetrical roof geometry, and contrasting different textures in landscape design.
