#10779. Contemporary two-level house with contrasting façade surrounded by forest

The contemporary country house presented in the image is a striking example of architecture harmoniously interacting with its natural surroundings. This two-story structure is situated on a spacious green plot, surrounded by coniferous and deciduous trees, creating an impression of complete immersion in the natural environment.

The façade employs contrasting materials — the upper section is clad with light-colored vertical wooden panels, while the lower level features dark vertical wooden slats that create a rhythmic texture. The roof has a classic gabled form but is interpreted in a modern way and appears to be covered with a dark metal material. Abundant panoramic glazing ensures a visual connection between the interior and the surrounding landscape.

Particularly interesting is the architectural solution for the lower floor, which is partially elevated on supports, creating a sense of lightness for the entire structure. This technique also forms a covered space under the house that can be used as a terrace. The lower level has a darker color that visually "grounds" the building, while the lighter upper floor appears more airy.

In designing your own house, several techniques could be borrowed from this project: using contrasting colors and materials for visually separating the building's volumes; applying vertical elements in the façade treatment to create rhythm and visually increase height; integrating large glazed surfaces to connect with nature; and partially raising the structure on supports to create additional functional space and give lightness to a massive construction.
